In a statement signed by its Head of Communications, Izunna Okafor, FirstPower said the latest arrests formed part of its sustained efforts to combat the vandalisation of electricity infrastructure across Anambra State.

The company noted that the menace disrupts electricity supply to communities and imposes significant financial burdens through the repair and replacement of damaged or stolen equipment.

FirstPower Management reiterated its commitment to collaborating with security agencies and host communities to identify and bring perpetrators of electricity infrastructure vandalism to justice.

The company also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities around transformers, electricity poles, cables and other electricity installations to the appropriate authorities.

It warned that the destruction of electricity infrastructure affects not only the company but also customers and entire communities that depend on the facilities for reliable power supply.

Consequently, FirstPower called on members of the public to support its ongoing “Name and Shame” initiative by providing credible information that could help prevent infrastructure vandalism and electricity theft while safeguarding critical power assets.

The company expressed appreciation to security agencies and community stakeholders for their continued support in protecting electricity infrastructure, assuring customers that it would sustain efforts to improve network security and service delivery.
