* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called for strengthened public and private partnership in the development of Anambra state. The Governor made the call while commissioning four separate projects done by a philanthropist, Chief Ikechukwu Agbogu; for his Umuochiogu kindred and Obegu village of Nri community, Anaocha Local Government Area. The projects include five hundred KVA transformer, two kilometers road, borehole facility and ultramodern hall built and powered with forty KV generator set.

* The member representing Anaocha, Njikoka, and Dunukofia at the Federal House of Representatives, and APGA Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central in the 2023 general election, Hon. Dozie Ferdinand Nwankwo, has joyfully felicitates with the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District, as they usher in the new year, described by him as a year of a sociopolitical breakthrough for Anambra Central. According to Onyendozi, “2022 has had its fair shares of the good and the ugly but in all we’ve made significant progress. As we look back on the year with the knowledge that brighter days are ahead of us this 2023 – and though our challenges might be great, each of us must have the courage and determination to rise up and meet them”.

* The Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has called for deeper retrospection and promotion of peaceful coexistence. In her New Year message in Awka , Mrs. Soludo, said the new year offers a fresh chance for everyone to look inwards and ask crucial questions about their relationships with themselves, God and humanity. She stated that while 2023 presents a clean slate for a new beginning, better focus and smarter planning, events of the past year have taught humanity lessons about oneness, community, love and resilience.

* Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, and Metropolitan Onitsha Ecclesiastical Provence, His Grace,  Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke has paid tributes to the Pope Emeritus Benedict Xvi. Pope Emeritus Benedict Xvi was confirmed dead at his residence Vatican in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, aged 95 after almost a decades he stood down because of ailing health.

* Over one thousand persons living with different ailments in Achina and surrounding communities have received free medical treatment from Lift A Widow Initiative. The two-day medical outreach held at Amaiyi Health Center, Achina in Aguata Local Government Area is an annual programme of the organization that started in 2009.

* The Senior Pastor of the Bible Base Miracle Assembly, Nkpor, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, Rev Jerry Nwachukwu, has predicted victory for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, during the February 25, 2023 general election. In his New Year prophetic declaration in the early hours of Sunday, January 1, 2023, tagged, “Life, Fully Alive,” the cleric noted that “Peter Obi will be victorious in the 2023 presidential election. Let us pray there will be no room for a run-up. There will be stiff resistance by the powers that be to subvert the people’s choice; but Nigerian youths will stop them.”

 

* The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Uche Okafor has assured Ndi Anambra that the state legislature would continue to enact laws and resolutions aimed at uplifting the living standard of the citizenry as well as the total development of the state.

In his new year message,  Okafor described year 2023 as a year of peace and progress for the state and the citizenry. He called on politicians in the state irrespective of party affiliation, to join hands with Governor Chukwuma Soludo in moving the state to greater heights, adding that the governor has achieved a lot in just nine months in office across all sectors.

* Anambra Civil Society Network (ACSONET) a foremost Citizens and Non State Actors stakeholders group has drawn public attention to the electoral promises of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

According to the Leader of the group, Prince Chris Azor, the promises are specifically contained in the Transition Committee report. The latter was an outcome of deliberations by the body headed by  Dr Oby Ezekwesili.

* Nimo Community has conferred Iyom title and inducted six new members into the prestigious Otu Odu Socio Cultural Organization. The colourful ceremony, held at the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Chinedu Oliobi, attracted friends and well-wishers, who came to share in the joy of the celebrants.

* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Idemili North House of Assembly election and the member representing the Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Chief Ifeanyi Arthur Chiekwu (EbubeChukwu Uzo n’Idemili), has felicitated with his constituents on a New Year Day Celebration. Delivering his New Year Day Message at his Country home Umuoji, Hon Chiekwu expressed gratitude to God for allowing Umu Idemili North to see yet another year, saying that the outgone year 2022 had its peculiar challenges, lessons and blessings, saying that he would continue to be thankful to the Supreme Deity for the gift of life and sound health.
