A bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Indigenous Medicine and Traditional
Practices Agency and for other related purposes has scaled second reading at plenary.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Majority Leader of the House Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme the sponsor of the bill said it seeks to addresses the growing recognition of indigenous medicine as a critical component of healthcare,
Hon. Ofodeme who is the member representing Ekwusigo Constituency stated that the bill is a proactive step towards promoting traditional practices while ensuring they adhere to safety and ethical standards.
Speaking in supporting of the bill, Hon. Obi Nweke (Anambra East), Hon. Golden Iloh (Ihiala Two) and Tony Muobike (Aguata two) in the seperate submissions
emphasized that the bill will help the state in no small measure, especially in the area security.
Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze referred the bill to the committee on Health chaird by Hon. Tony Muobike.
