Anambra CP Moves To Strengthen Peace, Restore Harmony In Nimo Community

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP. Ikioye Orutugu has
initiated a peace dialogue with key stakeholders and leaders of thought from Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the meeting which was held at the compound of St. Vincent Primary School Ifite-Ani Nimo brought together Njikoka Local Government Chairman, traditional leader, town union executives, youth representatives, women leaders and security partners from Nimo.

Speaking during the interactive session, CP. Orutugu reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to promoting dialogue as a veritable tool for conflict resolution.

The Police boss emphasized that security and peace can only thrive when communities actively collaborate with the Police and other security agencies. He further urged the community leaders to embrace reconciliation, shun acts capable of breaching public peace, and continue to support the Police in sustaining the relative tranquility the state enjoys.

CP. Orutugu maintained that the dialogue was aimed at addressing lingering communal disputes, fostering mutual understanding, and reinforcing the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order through peaceful engagement.

In their separate remarks, Stakeholders including the Local Government Chairman of Njikoka, Traditional Ruler, Town Union executives, traditional council, youth association and other stakeholders commended the Police Commissioner for his proactive initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would foster peace, unity and progress in the community.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with all parties agreeing to uphold continuous dialogue and collaboration towards achieving enduring peace in Nimo and the entire Njikoka Local Government Area.
