The member representing Ogbaru 1 constituency, Hon. Nobel Igwe, has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for the construction of roads in the state, particularly in Okpoko.
Before seconding the motion for adjournment on Tuesday plenary, Hon Igwe expressed gratitude to Soludo and also called for the speed up in action of other constructed roads so as to reduce the suffering of his constituents.
“We are now enjoying the roads in Okpoko. I also want to use the opportunity to ask him to call the contractor that is supposed to work on Obodo Ukwu road and Ik Onuorah road to speed up action because people are suffering on that road.Â
Hon. Igwe while speaking to house of assembly correspondents after plenary maintained that Governor Soludo was interested in Okpoko roads and has awarded nine roads which some are currently under construction.Â
“If you go to Okpoko now, work has not started on some of the awarded roads. Obodo Ukwu, Ik Onuorah, Ogbuagu roads are not under construction but the Governor awarded the roads.
“This two roads are the major roads (exit and entrance axis) into Ogbaru constituency one. The ones they are doing are being done well and our concern is that we want them to take special cognizance of flood control so that it won’t have effect on the properties around the areas that are under construction.Â
” The Governor is transforming Okpoko. He has been doing a wonderful job but we still want him to do more. In the next budget, we will include the remaining roads like mmubuike Orumba road which is a vital road and also in East- Niger and Eze-eze roads.’
