Anambra NUJ Election: Odogwu Takes Campaign To ABS Chapel

The Chairmanship candidate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD, along side his campaign team on Monday January 20th visited Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) Chapel in Awka.

Dr. Odogwu, who is the current NUJ Chairman in his speech promises that there would be more trainings and empowerment of NUJ members, if re-elected. He commended all members of NUJ for their support in the past three years, calling on ABS Chapel members to vote him back for second term.

The NUJ Chairman while soliciting for votes and support, beckoned on all ABS Chapel members of vote him again on Friday 24th January at the election which will hold at the press center.

He expressed confidence that he will win the election and that he will achieve some of the things he failed to achieve in his first tenue.

” I started journalism in ABS in 1997. This is a home coming for me. Am begging for your votes.

” In the last three years, i have served the union with all i have and am ready to do more. There will be more trainings, exposure and empowerment of Journalists if i return as NUJ Chairman”. Odogwu promised.

The Managing Director of ABS, Mr. Chris Molokwu while addressing the campaign team, commended Dr. Odogwu for his leadership qualities, stating that NUJ
Anambra State Council has leaved up to its responsibility as the watchdog of the society.

” Based on credibility and capacity, Odogwu has an edge above other candidates. He is a seasoned writer who has distinguished himself”. The MD of ABS submitted.

Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna while speaking,
maintained that Odogwu deserves a second term considering his performance in the last three years. He outlined the achievements of the NUJ Chairman, stating that he will perform better in the second term.

Earlier in his welcome address, Acting Chairman ABS Chapel, Comrade Emmanuel Okonkwo assured Odogwu of all the necessary support. He revealed that NUJ Chairman deserves another three years.

In their separate speech Secretary of NUJ Anambra Council, Comrade Aloysius Ofodile, Comrade Chibuzor Obidike, Comrade Kenechukwu, Comrade Njideka Okoye, Comrade Ozoemena Thomos, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejirika, Comrade Tochukwu Ochie and Comrade Geb Alokwa, assured Odogwu of their full support in making sure he is re-elected for second term.

It will be recalled that Odogwu on Saturday 18th January 2025, Flag-off his re-election campaign at Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel office in Udoka Housing Estate Awka.
