Korede Bello Urges Couples to Have More Children Amid Economic Hardship

Singer Korede Bello has sparked a public debate over family size, urging couples to move away from the trend of small households to increase the chances of the world producing “geniuses.”

In a video broadcast that has since gone viral, the 30-year-old “Godwin” hitmaker lamented the shift toward having only one or two children, arguing that a larger population is essential for the next generation of global icons to emerge.

The “Michael Jackson” Factor

Bello used the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson as a primary case study for his argument. Jackson was the eighth of ten children born to Joe and Katherine Jackson—a fact the singer suggests should be a lesson for modern parents.

”I have been wondering – what if Michael Jackson’s mother had stopped at two or six kids? He was the seventh,” Bello said. “Imagine a world without him just because she chose fewer children.”

He expressed concern that the current generational preference for small families might inadvertently stifle the birth of future legends. “We need more Michael Jacksons,” he added.

Economic Constraints vs. Legacy

While acknowledging the harsh economic realities that often dictate family planning, Bello questioned whether the current trajectory is sustainable for the future of human talent.

”I understand that the economic situation limits our desires to populate the earth,” the singer conceded. “But how are we going to continue like this? Are we ever going to get to a place where houses will be filled with children again?”

The artist noted that it is increasingly rare to find young couples with more than two children, a trend he described as a departure from the vibrant, bustling households of previous generations.

Call for “Special” Talent

Bello’s thesis rests on the idea that greatness is often found through volume, suggesting that parents should “go farther and deeper” to find something special within their lineage.

”These one-one children that we are giving birth to, what is wrong?” he asked.

The singer, known for his clean-cut image and mass-communication background, has previously used his platform to speak on social issues, ranging from mental health to economic empowerment. His latest comments have reignited discussions across social media regarding the balance between financial responsibility and the traditional African value of large families.
