A bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Commuters Manifest Scheme in Anambra State and for other releated matters, on Tuesday scaled second reading.
The bill which was sponsored by the Chief Whip and member representing Ihiala one constituency, Barr. Jude Ngobili.

Leading the debate, Hon. Ngobili maintained that the essence of the bill is to keep data of passengers coming in and out of Anambra State.
Ngobili noted that in cases of accident of attacks, victims can be tracked and compensated or intervene through the agency.
” This bill aims at safeguarding travelers who will submit their details such as names, phone numbers, address, next of kin in case of accident.
Supporting the bill, in their separate submissions, Golden Iloh (Ihiala 2), Jude Umenajiego (Onitsha South 2), Patrick Okafor (Onitsha North 2), Mimi Azikiwe (Onitsha North one), Ikenna Ofodeme (Ekwusigo), Emma Nwafor (Orumba South), Ejike Okechukwu (Anaocha two), and Bernard Udemezue (Ayamelum)
“Many Families can not be reach when accident or any harm happens, but this law seeks to end such situations.
“Many Corpse are abandoned and unclaimed in the mortuary without any trace but with this bill, such incidents can be addressed.
” This will help the transport unions and government gather data of travelers”. the lawmakers stated.
Anambra Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided plenary, commended Ngobili for sponsoring the bill, noted that the law is coming at the right time.
