The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State Chapter, has congratulated Prof. Victor Madubuko, Chairman of the Anambra State Beach Soccer Association, on his appointment as a member of the newly constituted interim Beach Soccer and Futsal Leagues Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The NFF constituted the interim board during its Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday in Asaba, Delta State, assigning it the responsibility of organising Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues across the country.
Reacting to the development in Awka on Sunday, Chairman of SWAN in Anambra, Chimezie Anaso, described Madubuko’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his immense contributions to the growth of beach soccer in the state.
Anaso expressed confidence that Madubuko would bring his wealth of experience to the board and contribute significantly to the development and success of Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues in Nigeria.
“Sports writers in Anambra are delighted with the appointment of Prof. Madubuko as a member of the NFF interim board for Beach Soccer and Futsal leagues.
“Madubuko represents everything Beach Soccer stands for in Anambra. He founded the association, funds its activities, and also sponsors the state team, the Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.
“He built a beach soccer stadium, hosted the Nigeria Beach Soccer League in Anambra, and inspired the state team to win a national league title, all within four years.
“On behalf of members of SWAN in Anambra, I congratulate him and assure him of our pride and support as he takes on this important national assignment,” Anaso said.
According to the NFF communiqué, the interim board is chaired by Mahmud Hadejia and includes Prof. Victor Madubuko, Dele Gbajumo, Nkopuye Ukpe, Abdul-Nasir Adamu Senchi, Mohammed-Bukar Alau, and Onome Ebi as members.
Saraki-Rasheed Oladimeji will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the board, while the Chief Operating Officer will be appointed by the NFF General Secretary.
