# As the November 8th 2025 governorship election approaches, the Social and Integral Development Centre, (SIDEC), urges all eligible voters in Anambra State who recently registered or transferred their polling units to urgently collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as distribution exercise across the state continues.
In a press release signed by Executive Director, SIDEC, Mrs. Ugochi Agalaba-Ehiahuruike, the group encouraged ndi Anambra, stating that the
PVC is the only instrument that grants citizens the power to exercise their democratic right to vote.
The exercise, which commenced on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, afford new registrants who participated in the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) or applied for transfers to new polling units, the opportunity to cast their votes for candidates of their choice.
According to INEC, a total of 146,353 valid new registrants and transfer applicants were recorded in Anambra during the last CVR, bringing the state’s total number of registered voters to 2,802,790 ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
# Chairman of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, has called on the people of Abagana Ward One, to come out in full support of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, in the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8.
Hon. Ononiba reminded them that APGA is deeply rooted in Anambra’s identity and progress, declaring, “APGA is Anambra, and Anambra is APGA.”
The Mayor emphasized the importance of voter participation and encouraged all eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the polls.
According to him, it is only through the ballot that the people can ensure the continuity of the Solution-driven administration that has positively impacted lives across the state.

Speaking during the event, the Mayor of idemili South, Dr. Mrs Amaka Obi lauded Prof. Soludo’s development strides in the state, saying that the Governor’s achievements, people-centered governance and commitment to inclusive prosperity across Anambra State have made a second term in office an imperative for him.
In his address, idemili South APGA Chairman, Chief Kizito Anoliefo noted that APGA will continue winning massively in Awka-Etiti, maintaining that the people in the community will make a statement with their unprecedented votes.
In their separate remarks, Hon. Chijioke Agbanyim, Hon. Ebuka Igwe and Hon. Evaristus Ofido commended the people of the community for their unalloyed support for Governor Soludo, adding that the community has benefited from the State government.
# The Chairman of idemili South LGA, Dr. Mrs Amaka Obi flagged-off construction of 600 metres of Okenwa Crescent road, near St. Kevin’s Catholic Church, Ndam Ngo, Nnobi.
Speaking during the flag-off of the road executed by major stakeholder in Nnobi, Chief Ikechukwu Azugo, under Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP), the Mayor described rural access roads as significant, important and economically of great benefits not just to the people of the community but also to entirety of potential beneficiaries of its social and agricultural impact.
While congratulating the people of Nnobi for having such a great philanthropist, Mrs. Obi revealed that the road when completed would birth a drastic improvement in the livehood of the communities where the road is passing through.
# The Director of Fides Media, Rev. Fr. Mark Obiorah Ikeh, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Information, Anambra State.
The visit aimed to explore areas of collaboration between Fides Media and the state government.

Speaking during the programme, the President-General of Awba-Ofemili Development Union, ADU, Hon. Chinedu Mebene explained that the disease affect’s a lot of the community members, causing death of many, making it pertinent to bring true health awareness on the disease and ensuring wellbeing for the people.
The Community’s Health Committee Chairman, Sir Remmy Nweke, explained that misinformation and wrong medication for the disease has caused lot’s of damages, affecting the sufferers economy and productivity, hence the need to bring proper health knowledge to the people on the disease.

This is according to the Keynote Speaker at the 32nd Annual Conference and Pharmacy Week of Anambra State Chapter of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Dr. Chukwumezie Okolo.
Dr. Okolo who is the lead trainer at Rite Place Institute For Leadership and Strategy – a non-governmental leadership training centre for healthcare professionals, called for the establishment of Anambra Pharmacovigilance Network to lead the advocacy for a digitalized and innovative pharmaceutical care.
Chairing the conference, the Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Dr. Tony Muobike asked members of the association to get more active in advocating for revolutionary laws that will further reposition the health sector in the state.
# The atmosphere in Awka the Anambra State capital was filled with joy and celebrations as the entire members of the Catholic Women’s Organization, CWO, Diocese of Awka, converged at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, for the grand finale of the CWO’s 2025 Triennial Convention.
Some highlights of the event included, three hundred million Naira fundraising for the CWO’s projects, empowerment of 117 indigent members of the organization with a bag of rice each, cash empowerment of 14 widows and other indigent members, to support their small businesses, presentations of award of honour to the past executives of the organization for their services, and a number of other individuals for their outstanding support to the organization.
The event, which began with a lecture and a quiz competition on the Church teachings, attracted a number of religious men and women and other dignitaries.
In a homily during a Holy Mass, the Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, admonished the CWO members to prioritize the training of their children above every other engagements, with a view to personally teaching them how to pray, the does and donts of the Church and society, among others, to enable them to grow into useful adults.
# The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Anambra State Chapter, on Sunday October 26th 2025, marked its 60th Anniversary with a Thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.
The Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Fr. Eugene Ejiofor in his homily, commended SWAN for acknowledging the importance of Thanksgiving.
Fr. Ejiofor while congratulating SWAN on their 60th Anniversary, urged members of the association to remain prayerful and dedicated.
