* Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has increased salaries of the state civil servants by ten percent (10%).

Governor Soludo who made the declaration at the celebration of the 2022 Public Service Day at the Anambra Secretariat Complex Awka, also promised to give them N15,000 as Christmas bonus. The Governor expressed empathy for income earners, especially in the light of the dwindling economic situation in the Country.

* The lndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Tuesday 20th December 2022 held town hall meeting with traditional rulers and President-General (PG) in Anambra central zone at the office headquarters Awka, Anambra state. President Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) Anambra central zone, Chief Oforkansi Ikechukwu in his speech assured INEC that the PG’s will do everything in there power to ensure that INEC succeeds in it’s mission.  

*Work is currently ongoing on the project site of the new Anambra Government House and Governor’s Lodge located at the heart of Awka, the State Capital. Governor Soludo on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, visited the project site to witness firsthand the rate and speed of work being done.

* The Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council has stated  that the recent courtesy visit of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar to members was in order and in line with the established protocol. The council in a statement signed by  the Secretary General of the Traditional Council His Majesty, Igwe Pius Omachonu, Ata Oja N’Olumbanasa Igwe Omachonu, stated that  “the Traditional Council had since resolved that all visits to the body should be at the Traditional Council chambers at the State Government House Awka, and preferably during its regular meetings.’’

* The President general of Odekpe community in Ogbaru LGA, Anambra State, Chief Innocent Onyekwelu Nwanosike has extolled the Anambra State Government led by Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for bringing palliative materials  to ameliorate the sufferings of recent flood victims in Ogbaru LG and other parts of riverine Communities.

Chief Nwanosike who is a lawyer made the disclosure during his Ezennia of Odekpe title which conferred on him by the Traditional ruler of Odekpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Eze Chuma Onyiah the Okakwu of Odekpe.

* Anambra State Resident Electoral Commission (REC) Dr (Mrs) Queen Elizabeth Agwu in her opening remark said INEC is at the peak of activities and preparations for conduct of free, fair and credible elections and that the commission has published timetable for collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC). In an interview with ANN after the meeting, Agwu lamented over how some persons show less concern over the collection of there PVC

* Contrary to news making the rounds that traditional rulers in Anambra State were invited during Atiku’s visit to hold endorsement meeting with the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), fact has emerged that the monarchs did not endorse Atiku or any of the party’s candidates for the coming elections. Chairman of Anambra South traditional rulers council, and the traditional ruler of Isseke ancient kingdom in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, HRH Igwe C.E Nnabuife, gave the clarification in an exclusive chat with Legit.ng’s regional reporter in Anambra, Mokwugwo Solomon, on Monday, December 19. 

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, embarked on-the-spot assessment on the construction site of 14.48 KM Club road, Regina celi, Millennium industry – INEC road, temp site – Y Junction – Isuaniocha road. Recall that Governor Soludo as part of his immediate actions upon assumption to the office declared a state of emergency on roads. This has led to the Flag off of over 250 km of road projects around the state.

* In continuation of his philanthropic works that predates his entry into politics, which has benefitted constituents from across party lines, the lawmaker representing Awka South II Constituency in the 7th legislature of Anambra State, Hon. Chukwuma  Okoye has presented empowerment items to 126 constituents of Awka South II Constituency (Obizi).
