* Mrs Nonye Soludo says she hopes to visit all the children’s homes in Anambra State before Christmas. Mrs Soludo stated this during her visits to more children’s homes in Awka and Amawbia. The children’s homes visited by the governor’s wife were Tenderlove Community Children’s Home, Awka, and Divine Mercy Compassion Home, Amawbia.

They bring to ten the total number of homes visited so far among the thirty-nine in Anambra State. 

*  Presentation and consideration of the report of Anambra assembly committee on finance and appropriation on the virement of 2023 appropriation law, has been presented at plenary by the committee chairman Hon. Ejike Okechukwu the member representing Anaocha two constituency.

* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has doled out Christmas package to players and officials of Anambra State club, Solution FC. ANN gathered that the Christmas package is in the form of 50kg bags of Rice each to officials and players of the Nigeria National League (NNL) side. The package was handed out to the players and officials on Tuesday, 19th December 2023 at the Conference Room of the Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ASSDC) under the supervision of the ASSDC Chairman, Patrick Estate Onyedum.

* Anambra State government has taken delivery of ten brand new units of Innoson vehicles. ANN gathered that the vehicles which are fully equipped with security gadgets such as sirens, public address systems, and radio communication were delivered by the Anambra Security Trust Fund at the Government House, Awka. The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Anambra State Security Trust Fund, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu performed the handover of the vehicles which were received by the Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Chief Chikodi Anara, flanked by Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd). 

* Presentation and consideration of the report of Anambra assembly committee on Public Account Committee (PAC) on the audited account of the 21 local government councils of Anambra state for the year ended 31st December 2022 has been presented at plenary by Hon. Nobel Igwe the member representing Ogbaru one constituency.

* The Urban Unit Commander, the Anambra Vigilante Group, AVG, Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area led by Mr. Sunday Agbo, said they have strategized to contend with criminal elements, during and after this year’s yuletide celebrations. It warned evil children from possible responsible parents never to gamble with their lives through coming into the said community for any negative behaviors.

* The Alumni Association Federal Polytechnic Oko, has held its annual public lecture series In honour of the former Head of State General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. 

* Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Quiz organized for secondary schools in Anambra State has come to an end with Aguata Zone winning  the maiden edition. ANN gathered the finals of the competition, which took place at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, were keenly contested by students that represented the six educational zones of the state, who emerged from the zonal elimination phases. 

* The Anambra Football Association Chairman General Chikelue Iloenyosi has  paid a courtesy call to the wife of late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Iyom Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu at her residence in Enugu. The FA Boss presented a pair of National team jerseys to the renowned Nigerian politician, diplomat, lawyer and businesswoman. The 1988 MBGN winner commended Iloenyosi for the massive drive he has accomplished in grassroot football development and pledged to always support wherever she can.

* A bill for a law to establish private collages of Nursing sciences and midwifery and other matters connected thereto has been read for the first time at plenary. The bill was sponsored by the majority leader Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme representing Ekwusigo constituency and was seconded by Minority leader Jon. Johnbosco Akaegbobi.

* Court sitting in Abuja, has dismissed the appeal brought before it by the House of Representatives candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Anambra state, against the victory of the Labour Party candidate, Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, whose victory had earlier been affirmed by the Election Petition Tribunal, in Awka, Anambra state. Justice M.I. Sirajo, who delivered the judgment said that the appeal by Hon. Onyema, lacked merit and therefore affirmed the earlier judgement of the Tribunal, which was delivered on Friday, October 20, 2023.

* The immediate past Governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano has expressed deep sadness and sympathy over the passing of Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife. In a statement released by Tony Nezianya Publicist to Chief Obiano, described Ezeife as a highly esteemed figure in Nigerian politics
