Igwebuike Anam Age Grade, one of the numerous age grades that makes up Anam clan has commissioned 128 high capacity solar street lights donated to the eight communities of the clan.
Angel Network News reports that the commissioning which was done during their Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was equally an avenue for them to present meritorious service awards to some of their members who have done exceptionally well in serving the interest of the age grade and Ndi Anam in general.
Speaking during the exercise, the President General of the age grade, Mr. Chris Udekwe said that their collective achievements as an age grade in Anam speaks volumes, as they had before now distributed educational materials to all students in Anam, and that the commissioning of the solar lights is the first of its kind in Anambra West Local Government Area.
Mr Udekwe commended the efforts of the project committee members led by Chief Isaac Ebeatu-Morba, among numerous others who contributed in one way or the other to ensure that the project was a fruitful one and promised that they will continue to bring more developmental projects to Anam people.
Also speaking, the Deputy Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Ofoma Okonkwo who is a member of the age grade appreciated his mates for the giant strides, as government alone cannot do the job of community development and prayed God to give them the courage to continue the good work.
In their various remarks, Engineer Samuel Onyekwelu-Udevi from Umuoba Anam and Okwudili Okafor Nwofia from Iyiora Anam gave kudos to their members for service to humanity and appealed to other age grades in Anam to emulate what they are doing to raise the tempo of infrastructural development and social amenities in Anam.
The Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ikechi among others was present during the event that climaxed with the presentation of awards and inauguration of the new executive that will oversee the affairs of the age grade.
