Tinubu Orders Military Overhaul After Horrific Borno Massacre

President Bola Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s Armed Forces to undertake a comprehensive review and restructuring of security operations following a devastating attack in Darajamal community, Borno State.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking for the president, confirmed the immediate deployment of advanced military hardware and surveillance systems, including new drones, to neutralise terrorist threats across the country.

The directive comes in response to a brutal assault that claimed the lives of soldiers and civilians alike. Governor Babagana Zulum had visited the scene of the massacre to extend condolences to affected families.

Shettima also reiterated support for exploring state police units—mobilised to match local security needs—with the belief that such structures could strengthen grassroots-level response.
