# Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s call for a public-private and community partnership in the development of the state has continued to receive response as Keystone Bank Nigeria has renovated and handed over Saint Judes Secondary School, Ihiala.
The handover ceremony which attracted Governor Chukwuma Soludo and other top government officials, traditional ruler of Ihiala and many others was a part of Keystone Bank educational support initiative to build bridges and shape the life of young people.
While addressing the gathering, the Board Chairman of Keystone Bank, Lady Ada Chukwudozie said the bank is sowing seeds of hope that represents a commitment to nurture minds, support communities and partner with the government in shaping the next generation.
She disclosed that the project was inspired by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s transformational vision for education in Anambra State which is a vision that ensures that no child is left behind for free and inclusive education.
On his part, the Managing Director of Keystone Bank, Mr Iman Hassan who expressed delight for the mission accomplished, extolled their Board Chairman for the project which he said is her brain child initiative to better the lives of younger generations as education is the heart beat of development.
# The Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma has Anambra residents that his administration would tackle the power supply challenges if elected on November 8 poll.
Chukwuma, who stated this while interacting with academic community across the public and private higher institutions in Anambra State, explained that he would provide grids at each of the senatorial zones and cascade them accordingly across the 21 Council Areas for easy and stable power supply to all.
This, according to him, would help to stabilise the economy and industrialise the State because Anambra has both human and material resources and those ready to pay their power supply to boost their businesses and enjoy better lives.

In a press release signed by Mrs. Ugochi Ehiahuruike, Executive Director, SIDEC, the group maintained that it is deeply concerning that cases of vote buying have continued to characterize elections across the country, including the recent by-election conducted in parts of Anambra State.
# Governor Soludo has appreciated the endorsement from drivers and transport unions, described them as critical stakeholders in the state’s economic growth who must be protected.
Speaking at a rally held at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, Prof. Soludo, also warned government agencies and touts against extorting money from drivers and transport operators in the state.
The governor further stated that while drivers contribute significantly to the economic development of the state, they are also among the key beneficiaries of his administration’s initiatives.
Expressing concern over reports of continued extortion by some individuals posing as government agents, Soludo pledged to set up a task force to clamp down on those collecting illegal levies from drivers and traders.
# Indigenes of Umueze Ogwugwu Oba community, in Idemili South LGA, took to the major streets, protesting alleged take over of their land by a government Property developer, (firm), Bukham Group.
The protesters frowned over the the destruction of buildings, farm land, cash crops, economic trees, among others.
The protesters carried placards with the inscriptions, “Soludo come to our rescue’, ‘We have no other place call our own land’, ‘Bukham Group in collaboration with few of our sons have sold some plots of our land’, ‘We can’t be tenants in our own land’, ‘They have destroyed our buildings, farmland,”among others.
Addressing newsmen during the protest, their President, Sir. Emeka Motanya, said the destroyed property such as buildings, farmland, economic trees, farm produce, is estimated over one billion naira.
Motanya who spoke through his Secretary General, Mr. Samuel Onwukwe, reiterated that, the the destruction has continued despite all efforts from the community.

Sir Paul Chukwuma, has commenced palliative work on the Otuocha-Anyamelum road, which has been abandoned and consequently out of use by motorists for years now.
The palliative work on the Otuocha-Anyamelum road commenced on Monday, October 13, 2025, and would be completed in the coming days.
The road, a major connecting route from Otuocha to Anyamelum, is also an important road that facilitates the ease of transportation of agricultural produce from the farmlands to markets within Anambra State and beyond.
In addition, the Otuocha-Anyamelum road is an important access road for businessmen connecting Onitsha from Anyamelum and environs, as well as the northern parts of Enugu.
During his campaign trail in Anyamelum LGA only a few weeks ago, Sir. Paul Chukwuma assured the people of Anyamelum that he would prioritize the reconstruction of the only access road to the LGA and would also support the LGA to realize its maximum agro potentials.
Reacting, Sir Paul Chukwuma has described the ongoing work as a sign of what is to come.
# The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP. Ikioye Orutugu has initiated a peace dialogue with key stakeholders and leaders of thought from Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area.
The meeting which was held at the compound of St. Vincent Primary School Ifite-Ani Nimo brought together Njikoka Local Government Chairman, traditional leader, town union executives, youth representatives, women leaders and security partners from Nimo.
Speaking during the interactive session, CP. Orutugu reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to promoting dialogue as a veritable tool for conflict resolution.
The Police boss emphasized that security and peace can only thrive when communities actively collaborate with the Police and other security agencies. He further urged the community leaders to embrace reconciliation, shun acts capable of breaching public peace, and continue to support the Police in sustaining the relative tranquility the state enjoys.
# It was a day of joy and jubilation as
members of the Agwuzani family of Umuaroli village, in Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday, trooped in their numbers into their ancestral land known as the Ogwugwu Agbu land, after over 15 years of being denied access by land grabbers.
The family members during the visit to the land, chanted solidarity songs in appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for intervening in the matter and rescuing them from the hands of their oppressors.
The jubilant family members were accompanied to the land by security operatives from the state government, due to fear of attack by the land grabbers and some security personnel allegedly on their payroll, who had prevented the family from entering the land.
Addressing newsmen during the visit to the land, the Diokpa/head of the Agwuzani family, Comrade Sunday Ogoazi, disclosed that the ancestral land measures over 1,000 hectares, from which they gave government two third of it and they were compensated.
According to Ogoazi, it was the portion which they were compensated with that land grabbers had encroached on, resulting in a litigation.
