Yemen’s Houthi movement has officially declared its entry into Iran’s war against the United States and Israel, leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced in a televised speech on Thursday.
Al-Houthi accused Washington of backing Israeli military objectives and warned that any American aggression supporting Israel would be treated as a direct threat to the entire region.
“Because he considers it the biggest obstacle in the way of his plan… any attack or US aggression supporting the Israeli enemy against Iran… is a throw to empower the Israeli enemy from controlling the entire region. And this is what cannot be silenced,” he said.
He framed the conflict as an existential struggle for the Muslim world, adding: “The battle is the battle of the whole nation. And the salvation of the nation, honour and victory in the movement in Jihad in the way of Allah.”
The declaration comes amid Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping and missile launches toward Israeli-linked targets, raising fears of wider escalation and further disruption to key maritime routes.
Security analysts warn the move could draw US forces into direct confrontation and intensify the humanitarian and economic fallout across the region.
