The Confederation of African Football has fixed the dates for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations and several other major tournaments on its 2026-27 calendar.
In a statement issued on Monday, CAF said the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, will run from June 19 to July 17, 2027. Qualifying matches are due to start in September 2026.
CAF said the updated schedule aims to make its competitions more stable and predictable while creating more opportunities for senior and youth teams.
The TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup will take place in Tshwane, South Africa, on November 8, 2026. The match will feature Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns against Confederation Cup holders USM Alger, with kick-off at 3pm local time (1pm GMT).
Ghana will host the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in February and March 2027, while Morocco stages the Under-17 edition in April and May. Egypt will organise the Under-23 tournament, which doubles as qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
CAF is also examining the feasibility of a new Under-17 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations next year, subject to sporting and organisational conditions.
Morocco will host the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations from October 12 to 21, 2026, and Senegal the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in November.
At club level, the draws for the preliminary rounds of the 2026-27 Champions League and Confederation Cup have been completed. First-leg matches are set for September 4-6, with returns on September 11-13.
CAF said greater certainty over dates and hosts would help member associations, players, broadcasters and commercial partners plan more effectively.
