Rapper Blaqbonez has publicly outlined the circumstances surrounding his ongoing rift with fellow artist Odumodu Blvck, attributing it to a past non-exclusive relationship with a woman who later dated his former associate.
In a detailed statement, Blaqbonez said the two men previously maintained a cordial relationship. He recounted that around June or July 2023 they both met the same woman and expressed interest in her.
“Afterwards, me and the girl had a thing for like a year, like a non-exclusive relationship. She doesn’t speak to me about other guys; I don’t speak to her about other girls. We didn’t label the relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend,” he said.
According to Blaqbonez, the woman later told him the connection was not progressing as she hoped. “One year down, she said it’s not going the direction she wants it to go, and the fire between us is dying, that it wouldn’t work anymore.” Contact continued intermittently before the pair created distance.
Blaqbonez said he only later learned she was also involved with Odumodu. After an encounter at a bar, he asked about her current relationship and was informed it was with Odumodu. “I promised her she wouldn’t hear from me again and we moved on.”
Days later, he said he learned Odumodu had contacted his videographer about filming a diss track directed at him. Blaqbonez reached out for clarification. Odumodu’s response, according to the account, was: “Dude, I don’t have anything to tell you. Anywhere you see me, don’t greet me. Lie to yourself all you want; me and you know wetin dey sup.”
In a subsequent call, Odumodu accused him of disturbing “my babe.” Blaqbonez said he explained the prior connection had ended, that he had blocked the woman after learning of the new relationship, and that no further contact had occurred.
The exchange escalated into a three-way call involving the woman. During the conversation, Blaqbonez said she denied any intimate history or relationship with him, describing his characterisation of them as friends-with-benefits as false. He further claimed they had travelled together to Ghana and stayed in the same hotel, a detail she rejected, saying they had merely run into each other.
“I told him I didn’t know what else to say, and he should just believe his girl. I sent him pictures of us in Ghana to prove to him that I wasn’t lying and that we had a thing,” Blaqbonez stated.
He said Odumodu then pressed for details on the frequency of their physical encounters. When asked whether it was “10 to 15 times or is it 40 upwards,” Blaqbonez replied that it was “40 upwards.”
Since that exchange, Blaqbonez said he has faced “constant harassment, constant attacks on social media and everywhere.”
The statement represents Blaqbonez’s account of the dispute. Odumodu Blvck has not issued a public response in the material reviewed. The two artists’ disagreement has continued to play out through social media exchanges.
