Carrick Named Permanent Man United Manager On two-year deal

Michael Carrick has been confirmed as Manchester United’s permanent manager after agreeing a two-year contract with the Premier League club.

The former Red Devils midfielder, who had been in interim charge, secured the full-time role following weeks of internal discussions and strong performances that earned him growing support within the squad and hierarchy.

The agreement revealed yesterday will be valid until 2028 as Manchester United also have option to extend until 2029

The decision was approved by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and senior executives. Carrick is set to sign a deal understood to run for an initial two years with an option to extend, or potentially a three-year structure based on results.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported: “Michael Carrick will stay at Manchester United as permanent manager, confirmed. Direction clear for weeks, plan also approved by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and new deal set to be signed soon.”

Carrick expressed gratitude to supporters as he prepared to address fans after a recent match, following in the footsteps of his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

“That’s important anyway,” he said. “The supporters are a massive part of this club. We thank them for the season; the last four months for me personally.”

“Regardless of that, for what we’ve gone through and that connection, which the players have felt, it’s important for me to thank the fans for that,” Carrick added.

The appointment marks a new chapter for the 20-time English champions as they seek stability and renewed success on the pitch.
