Socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has offered to undergo a public DNA test to resolve a long-running paternity dispute with Kenyan woman Hellen Ati.
Chiefpriest made the announcement on Monday following widespread discussion of a viral video in which Ati pleaded for support for their alleged son, who is reportedly ill.
In comments on Instagram, he challenged Ati to bring the child to a television studio for a live test. “Make Una help me bring her & the child for una studio make I come there come do the DNA For una on live tv for free,” he wrote.
The dispute dates back to claims by Ati that the boy was conceived during a brief encounter with Chiefpriest in Lagos in 2022. She has repeatedly called for a DNA test, saying she has been raising the child alone amid financial and health struggles.
Chiefpriest has consistently denied fathering the child or even knowing Ati, describing the allegations as attempts to tarnish his image and marriage. He insisted he would not send money based on online claims.
“If you have a child for me too bring it to any of my outlets or my residence,” he stated in response to critics. “Bring me the child na you dey find papa for your pikin… I’m not looking for my child so I’m not spending anything to help you.”
The controversy resurfaced after Ati’s emotional video aired on a national television programme, prompting public pressure for resolution. Chiefpriest’s latest position marks a shift, as he had previously rejected demands while maintaining the burden of proof lies with the claimant.
No date has yet been set for the proposed live DNA test.
