Federal High Court Judges Set to Proceed On Annual Vacation

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has announced that judges of the court will embark on their 2024 yearly vacation from July 23, 2024.

This announcement was made on Tuesday in Abuja, citing the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.

The vacation will commence on July 23, 2024, and end on September 13, 2024, with formal court sittings resuming on September 16, 2024.

According to the Chief Judge, this break will enable judges to rest and prepare for the tasks of the new legal year.

During the vacation, the three main divisions of the court in  Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt will remain functional for urgent matters only.

Justices Emeka Nwite and Peter O. Lifu will serve as vacation judges in Abuja, while Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac D. Dipeolu will oversee the  Lagos division. In Port Harcourt, Justices A. T. Mohammed and P. M. Ayua will preside over urgent cases.
