APGA National Convention: Reactions As Ezeokenwa, 30 Officers Emerge In Awka

Reactions and commendations from stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) continues as Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, thirty other officers were on Wednesday May 31 2023 elected in Awka, Anambra state.

ANN reports that the party also reconstituted its Board of Trustees (BOT), naming former governor Willie Obiano as chairman. Other members of the board included; the out-gone national chairman, Victor Oye; governorship candidate of the party in Enugu, Frank Nweke Junior; Senator representing Abia Southz Enyinaya Abaribe; former member representing Orumba North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon Ben Nwankwo and the speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Uchenna Okafor among others.

Newly elected APGA National Youth Leader, Onyebuchi Eze in an interview with reporters described the election as free and fair.

” I see APGA as the only democratic party in Nigeria. A party that believes in federalism. APGA is supposed to be in charge of this country”,Eze submitted.

Former APGA Chairman Jigawa state, Alhaji Abubakar Garba while commending the immediate past executive led by Chief. Victor Oye expressed confidence on the newly elected officers.

” APGA is a democratic party and I’m hopeful that one day, we will have a regional office in the north but we can only achieve that if we in the north join hands together and attract more members to the party,” Abubakar said.

APGA Chairman Lagos State,07″”” Hon. ThankGod Ibeh told journalists in an interview that the immediate past executive took the party to a great height.

” Chief Victor Oye did very well. Building the national office in Abuja and the regional office in Awka only in eight yeara is really commendable. He is a man of honour and intergrity. We will miss him. We need people like him more in this party and i believe that the new national chairman will toe his footsteps. With where we are today and with the spirit of APGA, we are taking over this nation in a short while.

APGA Chairman Abia State, Emmanuel Egwu

APGA Chairman Abia State, Emmanuel Egwu while speaking with newsmen, said the newly elected national chairman is young and vibrant. He has the energy and vibe.

“APGA is going to be the third largest party in Nigeria. My major contribution in Abia state will be to make sure that the failures of the party will not repeat itself again.

“In 2023 election, APGA had a very shameful outing because of the out-gone executive members who where just there for their own intreast. Power has now changed hands into the hands of vibrant youths’.

The National Commissioner and chairman of the information and voters education committee , Festus Okoye in an interview said ” We have a regulatery responsibility towards all political parties. Based on the constitution of the political party, if what is done is contrary to the gardlines initiated by the national executive committee of the party, we have a responsibility to make sure that it is corrected and thats why we are here.

” We are here to monitor the convetion and write our report and perform our regulatry function. It is the responsibility of the political party to file whatever happens here to INEC. Both the list of the elected officers and the Board of Trustees (BOT) including any altration. We have a templateand which the political party must abide with.
