* Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has reacted to calls by the presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi for people of the state to vote massively for his party’s House of Assembly candidates. Obi had met with National and state Assembly candidates of Labour Party in Anambra, while urging the assembly candidates to work with Soludo upon election. Obi said Soludo remained his brother, and that he should not fear being impeached by Labour Party dominated assembly, as all that was paramount was to bring development to the state. But Soludo reacting to the call, through his Press secretary, Mr Christian Aburime said the call was rather deceptive, inappropriate and meant to lay landmines for Soludo.

* The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly, Awka South 2 Constituency, Barr. Ifedi Josiah, has expressed excitement at the unanimous endorsement from the Umuawulu Community. He reaffirmed his commitment to using the instruments of the legislature to attract the rich dividends of democracy to the people.

* Special Adviser on Political Matters to Anambra State Governor Alex Obiogbolu, has pitched the regional connotation of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as one of the reasons the Anambra State House of Assembly and other House of Assemblies in South-Eastern Nigeria ought to be dominated by APGA legislators. According to Dr. Obiogbolu, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Awka, Anambra State capital, APGA has a regional connotation and has its soul in the South-Eastern Nigeria, just as other major political parties have their souls in other regions of the country.

* Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has pleaded with Anambra voters to vote for Labour Party Candidates for Anambra State House of Assembly on March 18th and urged those that won the National Assembly election to render service while in office. Obi while speaking with journalists after the closed door meeting with candidates of the party running for House of Assembly seats. He also charging them to ensure they work with the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo when they attain victory.

* The member representing Awka South 2 Constituency at the Anambra state house of assembly Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has  empowered ten natives of Mbaukwu community who are graduate of his computer Training Institute with laptops. The Institute is set to resume session shortly after the March 18th State House of Assembly. election and it’s expected to have another ten intakes, who will be empowered upon graduation. 

* Mr Patrick-Estate Onyedum, chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on Anambra electorate to ensure candidates of the party were returned to fill the 30 seats in the State House of Assembly.

Onyedum who spoke to newsmen in Awka, applauded Anambra voters for their support for Mr Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party on Feb. 25. He urged them to channel the same energy of support to the ruling party in Anambra, APGA, by voting for all its candidates in the March 11 House of Assembly election.

* Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, winner of the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial District Election, has reassured students of his Senatorial District of his continuous support to education by encouraging reading, academic hard work, excellence and discipline. Senator Ubah stated this when he hosted participants in the recently concluded Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation (IUF) Quiz Competition and their school Coordinators at his home, Umuanuka Otolo Nnewi.

* Mrs Iyiegbu, the wife of celebrity billionaire, Obi Cubana has taken her philanthropism level to a much bigger level following a recent video of her outreach together with her team to a primary school. In the video, Obi Cubana’s wife raises the bar as she gifts some primary school students wearing tattered shoes brand new ones during her visit through her foundation known as “The KIEK Foundation.”

The foundation founded by Obi Cubana wife is a non-profit organizationwith an Initiative aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged Children & Women in our society.

* Mrs Victoria Enwerem has received 12-Year prison term for Kidnapping five children in Anambra state. The presiding Chief Magistrate, Genevieve Osakwe stated that the defendant had been found guilty of all the three charges brought against her. Mrs Enwerem in September 2022, conspired with one Oluchi Ahamefula, to steal children at the popular MCC Junction, Onitsha, Anambra State, with a view to moving the children to an unknown destination, but luck ran out on her, when she was caught by officers of the Nigerian Police Force, who were on stop and search operation, at Oraifite in Anambra State. She was granted bail, but jumped bail and was later tracked and apprehended at a remote part of Ebonyi State, in possession of two other underaged kids, who she allegedly stole from their parents. It was later discovered that she had continued her business of stealing children, while hiding in Ebonyi State.

* Bishop Wisdom Azukaego of Jesus Embassy Adoration Ministry in Nnewi, Anambra State has been murdered by gunmen suspected to be hired assassins.

It was gathered that the prophet popularly known as Onowu Jesus and Onowu Ugonabo, was found dead on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, three days after he was abducted.

Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report. Meanwhile, friends, colleagues and church members have taken to Facebook to mourn him.
