# Governor Soludo during his visit to Mgbuka Obosi market has assured residents and people of Anambra State that he will look into the rent and tenancy law of the state.
Prof. Soludo stated that he has heard several reports and complaints from people in the state about the way house agents rip tenants off when they want to rent a house within the state and have now decided to look into the issue. He added that he is aware that after a tent pays rent, the hose agent will also collect additional money from the tenant all in the name of agency fee.
The Governor said he would make sure that this practice will be tackled very soon as he has decided to look into the rent and tenancy law, which will regulate the prices of house rent within the state adding that this measures will be put in place to enable the less privileged in Anambra state have access to comfortable and conducive housing, without worrying about how high the cost will be.
# The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the HIV/AIDS Response ,Gender- Based Violence and Intimate Partner Violence with other social determinants of health following its active participation at the Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) National Consultative Workshop on HIV/AIDS, GBV and IPV Programming held in Abuja.
Speaking after the workshop, Dr. Okeke noted that Anambra State made strong contributions to discussions on survivor-centred care, Integrated HIV Community Response strategies, accountability mechanisms, referral pathways, social protection, and sustainable financing for HIV /AIDS and GBV/IPV interventions.

# The Nigerian Tennis Federation (NTF) has announced plans to designate the Onitsha Country Club as the headquarters of tennis in the South-East region of the country.
President of the Nigerian Tennis Federation, Honourable Victor Ochei, disclosed this during the commissioning of the Onitsha Country Club Tennis Pavilion at Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Represented by a member of the Federation’s Board, Chief Kingsley Uduh, Honourable Ochei said the NTF was impressed by the standard of the newly commissioned tennis pavilion and the club’s commitment to the development of the sport.
He noted that the facility would contribute significantly to the growth of tennis in the South-East and assured members of the club that the federation would support efforts aimed at making the venue a centre for major tennis activities in the region.
According to him, the Onitsha Country Club will in the future host national tennis tournaments as part of efforts to deepen participation in the sport and discover new talents.
# The Solution Innovation District (SID), has reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and talent nurturing through its participation in the 2026 Inter-House Sports Competition of Community Secondary School, Amichi.

# The X-FIT Table Tennis Team has held its In-House Championship at Oma Event Centre, Awka, bringing together players, sports enthusiasts, and notable personalities in a competition aimed at promoting healthy living, friendship, and sportsmanship.
The tournament, tagged, “All X-FIT Faithful Table Tennis Championship”, was sponsored by Mr. Nnanna Nzewi in collaboration with the Management of X-fit Aerobics and Fitness and featured 30 participants competing across four categories: Exhibition Group, X-FIT Junior Group, Female Category, and the X-FIT Main Group.
Speaking before the commencement of the competition, the Anambra State Table Tennis Coach and coach of the X-FIT team, Mr. Ibeh Reginald Ogonna, commended the sponsor, Mr Nzewi, for what he described as his long standing support to the club. He urged participants to display good sportsmanship throughout the tournament and avoid actions capable of disrupting the smooth conduct of the games.

# In line with its commitment to improving the wellbeing, self-reliance, and economic productivity of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in Anambra State, the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA) is set to partner with Le Look Bags Academy, Abuja, on skills acquisition and empowerment initiatives.
The Executive Director/Project Manager of ANSACA, Dr. Nkem Okeke, made this known following a strategic visit to the renowned Le Look Bags Academy in Abuja, where he was received by the Academy Manager, Mr. Yohanna.
Le Look Bags Academy, a leading vocational and entrepreneurial training institution owned by Chief Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, has distinguished itself in empowering individuals with practical skills in bag production, fashion entrepreneurship, and business development.
During the visit, Dr. Okeke was taken on a tour of the Academy’s training facilities and engaged in productive discussions on areas of collaboration between both organizations. # The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned one of its expelled member, Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu to stop parading himself as the state treasurer of the party or face legal action.
The party argue that the State Treasurer by Congress is Chief Izeh Vincent Okafor and not Mr. Arinze Awogu as he alleged.
They warned the public not to have anything concerning the position in common with him to avoid any misunderstanding whatsoever.
The party’s position was contained in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Chief Dr. Valentine Iyke Oliobi.
# Henceforth all road designs and projects in Anambra State must include water discharging points.
This is to ensure that roads meant to serve the people does not end up creating gully erosions that will cost the state more funds to tackle.
The Commissioner for Works Mr Okechukwu Ezeobi stated this during an interaction with members of the Anambra state House of Assembly Committee on Works in Awka.
According to him, from now on, the state must first consider where water collected by the drainage channels will be discharged as the cost implication is cheaper than the cost of tackling any gully erosion created by improper termination.

# In continuation of its strategic engagement with key industrial customers across Anambra State, the Management of FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited has visited Juddy Bolema Industry Limited, one of its foremost Maximum Demand (MD) customers, showcasing its commitment to customer satisfaction and improved service delivery.
The working visit to the company’s facility at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, formed part of the ongoing customer engagement initiative recently launched by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstPower, Engr. Okechukwu Okafor, to interact directly with major industrial customers, evaluate the quality of services being rendered, identify operational challenges and jointly develop practical and lasting solutions for improved electricity supply.
Receiving the delegation were the company’s Project Manager, Mr. Anthony Nwafor alongside other senior officials of the company.
Beyond discussing electricity supply and customer service, the FirstPower management also heartily commiserated with Juddy Bolema Industry over the recent fire outbreak that affected part of the company (most especially its warehouse), and resulted in significant losses, expressing sympathy and reaffirming the company’s solidarity during the difficult period.
